A BEAUTIFUL MORNING
You must be thinking right now that this picture is a Photoshop piece. Well think again. This shot was taken outside my balcony on the past Saturday morning using the normal setting mode. The colors you see here are genuine—they are the work of mother earth, not Photoshop. But why so yellow then? What could possibly turn the skyline into a yellow hue? Take a wild guess. When I saw this I thought we were really coming to 2012.
Beijing was hit by a sandstorm over the weekend and I was lucky enough to catch this rare event and took a couple of shots with my Lumix. Apparently the sand was carried over all the way from West China, where the Silk Road lies and where the desert looms. The strong winds blew the sand more than a thousand miles. A rare, magnificent, and mesmerizing event!

1 commentGONE TO SEE JERRY
Just weeks before the Chinese New Year, Jerry returned home for more than a month to undergo a surgery. The surgery would have his gall stones removed. Jerry has been well aware of his health issue, but little did he know that those stones kept growing larger and larger each day.
After a week of rest from home, we got the good news from Jerry that the surgery was a big success. No side effects, no serious damage.
So a bunch of us decided to pay him a visit. We took a 2-hour train ride from Beijing to Shijiazhuang over the weekend.
